T-GEx Fellow Dr. HEISHIMA Kazuki, The United Graduate School Of Drug Discovery and Medical Information Gifu University, has been selected as one of eighth cohort of the Mansfield-PhRMA Research Scholar.
T-GEx Fellow Dr. Kazuki Heishima, G-YLC-Designated Assistant Professor, Gifu University, has been selected as one of the eighth cohort of The Mansfield-PhRMA Research Scholar.
This program was launched in 2013 and is sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) with support from the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
The 2022 Mansfield-PhRMA program will include eight researchers from Japan’s pharmaceutical research community and two observers from PMDA and AMED.
The delegation will build a long-term professional network by meeting with diverse experts specialized in translational medical research or medical policy in the U.S. government, pharmaceutical companies, think tanks, and universities. Upon their return to Japan, the researchers will be expected to share what they learned during the program with their Japanese colleagues and to contribute to Japan’s research and development (R&D) and its policy reforms by utilizing the network.
Dr. Heishima is currently working on the development of therapeutic strategies to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis by targeting cancer metabolism.
