At this Research Outcomes Exhibition, T-GEx Fellows, Associates, and Corporate Associates will present the outcomes and achievements of their cutting-edge research. The event aims to help a wide range of participants deepen their understanding of the significance and potential of each research project, while also providing opportunities to receive valuable comments and advice that may lead to further development and new collaborative research.
The theme of this year’s exhibition is “In an age when AI does science, how do humans do science?” Generative AI and machine learning are no longer merely tools that support research; they are beginning to play a deeper role in the research process itself, from formulating hypotheses and designing experiments to analyzing and interpreting results. At the same time, essential aspects of research—such as defining meaningful research questions, interpreting the significance of findings, and returning research outcomes to society—require human judgment more than ever.
For the special lecture, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Koichi Takahashi of RIKEN, who is working on the development of autonomous research environments that integrate AI and robotics. His lecture, entitled “AI Robot-Driven Science and the Future of Scientific Research,” will provide insights into the evolving relationship between machines and researchers. We hope this exhibition will encourage dialogue across disciplines and sectors, and serve as an opportunity to consider the future of science jointly shaped by AI and humans.
