On Saturday, October 25, 2025, a Top Leader Talk was held featuring Mr. YAMADA Sadao, President/CEO of Daido Co., Ltd., a T-GEx partner company, and Dr. Sugiyama, President of Nagoya University. The event offered young researchers a valuable opportunity to learn about the roles, missions, and qualities of leadership. Twenty early-career researchers from both inside and outside the university participated.
President/CEO Yamada shared the story of Daido Corporation’s growth since its founding in 1946—from its early days to becoming a proposal-oriented mechatronics trading company with 40 offices nationwide. He also offered insights on how researchers can become global leaders who respond to the needs of society.
Encouraging participants, he remarked, “I hope you will become someone who can see things through to the end,” and emphasized the importance of “building win-win relationships with the people you work with.”
He also spoke about maintaining good health even beyond the age of 90, sharing his own practices and experiences. Participants listened attentively and were inspired by his words.
