On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the 2025 T-GEx Research Outcomes Exhibition was held at the EI Building (Emergent\/Innovative Engineering Bldg), Higashiyama Campus, Nagoya University. A total of 37 researchers, including T-GEx Fellows, Associates, and Corporate Associates, gave presentations, and the event welcomed 106 participants. With many participants in attendance, the venue remained lively throughout the event.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This exhibition was organized to present the research outcomes and deliverables from the cutting-edge research being advanced by T-GEx Fellows, Associates, and Corporate Associates, while also helping participants from a wide range of backgrounds understand and appreciate the significance of this research. At the same time, the exhibition aimed to gain insights and suggestions for its future development. As in previous years, early-career researchers presented their work through short presentations and poster sessions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The theme of this year\u2019s exhibition was \u201cThe Intersection of Research and Society.\u201d Today, research activities are increasingly called upon to demonstrate their value in relation to society, and the communication of research outcomes as well as dialogue with society have become more important than ever. In this exhibition, presentations and discussions were conducted with these perspectives in mind.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

For the special lecture, we were honored to welcome Professor Hiromi Yokoyama of the University of Tokyo, a specialist in Science and Technology Studies (STS). She delivered a lecture on \u201cTrust in Science in the Age of Populism\u201d. Her talk offered multifaceted insights into the relationship between science and society, as well as the nature of trust in science in the contemporary era. It also provided an opportunity to reflect on how scientific knowledge should be communicated to society and on the relationship between experts and the public. A lively discussion followed, including a lively Q&A session.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

In the short presentation session, all presenters gave a one-minute overview of their research. Despite the limited time, each speaker effectively conveyed the key points of their work, providing an excellent introduction to the poster session. The poster session featured active interdisciplinary discussions. Participants exchanged views from perspectives they would not normally encounter in their own specialized fields, making the session a valuable opportunity for new insights.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

For both the short presentation session and the poster session, participants voted for outstanding presenters using Google Forms, and the following presenters were selected for the Best Presentation Awards. The awardees received certificates from Professor Sugiyama, the President of Nagoya University, the T-GEx Program Director, at the networking reception of the consortium general meeting held in March.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
